What BayWise Collects
Almost nothing. The app does not:
- Collect names, emails, or contact info
- Track your location
- Access your camera, microphone, or contacts
- Run behavioral analytics or telemetry
- Show ads
The one exception: crash logs. BayWise uses Sentry, a third-party crash reporting service, to automatically collect error and crash data when something goes wrong. This data includes technical information like device type, OS version, and stack traces. It does not include any of your business data (customers, vehicles, jobs, invoices, etc.).
We use crash logs for one reason only: to find and fix bugs. Think of it like a check-engine light — it tells us something broke so we can get under the hood and fix it. We will never sell, monetize, or share this data with anyone. It exists purely to keep BayWise running smooth.
Where Your Data Lives
Everything you put into BayWise — customers, vehicles, jobs, time entries, parts, invoices, settings — stays in a local database on your device. Period.
There is no cloud sync. No remote server. Your business data never leaves your phone.
Crash logs are the only data transmitted over the internet, sent to Sentry's servers which are encrypted in transit. These logs contain no personally identifiable information and no business data.
Who Sees Your Data
Your business data? Nobody but you. Hi-Tech Redneck Consulting LLC has zero access to anything stored in the app. We cannot see it, retrieve it, or recover it.
Crash logs are visible only to the developer (Hi-Tech Redneck Consulting LLC) through Sentry's dashboard, solely for debugging purposes.
Sharing With Third Parties
Your business data is never shared with anyone. Crash logs are sent to Sentry for processing — that's the only third-party service BayWise communicates with. Sentry's privacy policy governs their handling of crash data. We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. Ever.
Deleting Your Data
Uninstall BayWise and all your data is gone permanently. You can also use the in-app "Delete All Data" option to wipe everything without uninstalling.
There is no way to recover deleted data. If you want to keep your records, use the backup feature before deleting.
Children
BayWise is a shop management tool, not a kids' app. It does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, the new version goes up at this URL with a new date.
